We have a business with customer of Israel about customizing a ferrule with diameter of 11mm, inner bore of 5mm and length of 434mm.

The requiring accuracy of 0.02mm of tolerance, overall length, inner bore and excircle concentricity is a challenge for us because there is no equipment at home can reach this accuracy standard under this lengthy workpiece.

First we communicated with our customer and provide our initial design idea that guaranteeing the concentricity of the ferrule by dividing the ferrule to two parts and assembling them carefully.

We made proofing for customers according to testify the feasibility of this design after the customer agreed our design on the basis of considering the usage and functions of the ferrule.

Finally, facts proved that this design can ensure the fit tolerance of axles and holes can reach 0.002~0.008, which is the key of requirement.

The customized ferrule performed well and produced qualified products, and we received the recognition of our customers. Besides that, we received a formal order of 20K sets.
